Stage a.  Application preparation & filing

    a.1    Attorney fees: 
            1.2    Chemical, basic - $2,800
            1.3    Mechanical, basic - $2,500
            1.4    Electronic, basic - $2,800
            1.5    Business method, basic - $3,000
            1.6    Industrial, basic - $2,800

    a.2    Formal drawings:  draftsman charges (at cost/usually $200-$500)

    a.3    USPTO 'filing' fees:  $515 (small entity) or $1,030 (large entity)

    a.4    (Assignment:  $400 for standard-form preparation and recording, with USPTO recording fees)

    a.5    (Additional claims fees:  Additional USPTO fees when claims exceed three independent claims and twenty claims total.  Add additional USPTO charges if these limits are exceeded.  Only with client's authorization.)

Stage b.  Application Examination (prosecution)

    b.1    Attorney fees:
            1.2    Chemical, basic  - $1,450
            1.3    Mechanical, basic - $1,300
            1.4    Electronic, basic - $1,450
            1.5    Business method, basic - $1,600
            1.6    Industrial, basic - $1,450

   b.2    The above b.1 fees do not include:  affidavits, declarations, appeals, re-filings, time extensions, responses after final, continued prosecutions.  Additional charges for any one of these steps.  Only with client's authorization.

Stage c.  Post-Allowance 

    c.1    Attorney fees:  $450 normal handling and reporting

    c.2    USPTO fees: add $1000 (small entity) or $1,700 (large entity) (current rate, additional $30 with initial order of ten patent copies)

USPTO fees subject to change.

Written estimates provided for other fields and other complexity levels.
